I am a licensed master's level social worker (LMSW) as well as a Certified Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CAADC). I completed my master’s degree of Social Work at Wayne State University. My therapeutic approach is always trauma-informed and person-centered to help clients with healing and lasting recovery.
Much of my approach involves working alongside the client in processing and resolving the impact of their past difficulties or traumas, experiencing less intense responses, and working toward a more connected and embodied life. It’s also important to me that I consider the importance of the surrounding systems, adversity, and stigma clients may face and how this impacts therapy.
My experience ranges from working with clients in the community, incarcerated, homeless with severe mental health and substance use diagnoses, at risk children and families, group therapy, developmental disabilities, and nonprofit community mental health.
Some of the techniques I am trained in, and use are Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Somatic/Sensorimotor Integrative Psychotherapy, Cognitive Processing Therapy, Relaxation/Mindfulness Techniques, Dialectic Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and Play Therapy Modalities. I’m glad you’re here!
I specialize in the following:
• Anxiety, depression
• General mental health/well-being
• Substance Abuse
• Eating Disorders
• Children and Teens and Adults
• ADHD
