Medicaid members are prohibited by Medicaid to pay out-of-pocket for non-covered services and offices cannot bill Medicaid members for non-covered services out-of-pocket. This is called balance billing and it is illegal.
Medicaid will cover neuropsychological testing performed through your local county’s community health network or the public school system. Knowing how your insurance works, its coverages, deductibles, co-insurance, co-pays, and maximum out-of-pockets are ultimately the responsibility of the client as is the understanding of responsibilities provided by your individual health insurance plan.
Complete Neuropsychology Services and/or any of its third-party verification providers are not responsible for the confirmation of any client's benefits from their insurance policy. Insurance companies dictate what is covered and make the decision to approve or deny their member's benefits. Ultimately the client is responsible for knowing the specifics of their policy and must contact their insurance company if they have any questions about coverage.
